Hi everyone I am Sharon from NJ

Postby joeysvoice57 » Tue Feb 28, 2012 5:47 am

greetings, I want to say first and foremost that I thank God for this forum. It really provides many with healing, hope and comfort during such trying times. My name is Sharon and I am a 42 year old mother of one. My daughter is 21 years old. I live in the Southern New Jersey area with my significant other, two cats and a dog. Over the course of my life, I have lost a total of 4 friends to suicide prior to losing my ex-husband/best friend in July 2011. Even though almost 8 months have passed, it doesn't feel like it to me at all. Its almost like time froze for me. I know time flies on by, I know that the year anniversary is coming up soon, yet it feels sometimes like I am just finding out the news today.

I am hoping to talk to others and promote hope and healing ... I am also seeking other survivors around the Cape May County area of South Jersey that would like to join my support group.

Thanks

Hi Sharon, you came to the right place. I'm very sorry for your loss. Keep going.

Thanks for the encouragement!! My local newspaper is going to be running an article on my support group and dream goals in relation to Suicide Awareness in my area. I gave the interview today. This is just a baby step but it is a step in the right direction.!!! I am excited for this opportunity.

I'm very sorry for the loss that brings you here, but glad you've found your way.

It is people like you, with goals to help others, that let our voices be heard. I too have considered founding a group, but have not been able to find a facilitator in the area. I haven't had the time or money to dedicate to the training myself either. Thank you for being a supporter of awareness and support.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom July 30,2011. I feel like it hits my emotions all the time. I love and hate her at the same time. She took a piece of my heart that day...Tina
