We'd like to let people know about th efollowing free education program:
“Addiction and Suicide Prevention” will be presented on Tuesday December 18, 2012; 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm; by Raymond Dalton, MA; Dawn Farm therapist. There is an alarmingly high prevalence of suicide among people with addiction and people in early recovery. This program will raise awareness of the signs of suicidal thinking and describe ways to offer support and obtain help for people who may be contemplating suicide. Participants will learn how to recognize suicidal thinking, reach out and offer support to others contemplating suicide, obtain help when suicidal thoughts are present, and access local and national suicide prevention and intervention resources.
This program is part of the FREE, annual Dawn Farm Education Series. All programs are open to anyone interested. Registration is not required. 1.5 hours of free C.E. approved by MCBAP (Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals) is offered for each program. A certificate to document attendance is provided on request. The Education Series is organized by Dawn Farm, a non-profit community of programs providing a continuum of chemical dependency services.
