Tuition Free Camp in Maine for Child Survivors of Suicide

Twelve years after my three kids father hung himself, they started a non-profit summer camp for kids 8-17 who have lost a parent or loved one to suicide. This camp takes place on Thompson Lake in Maine for one week in August. Last year saw their first group of campers and was a great success! As my children were 19, 16 and 14 at the time of their dad's death, they KNOW what these kids are feeling. In fact, they hadn't dealt with their own feelings UNTIL they began to "build" the camp. They began their healing along with the campers. They have been diligently fundraising and have had generous donors and can offer it free of charge this year. If you are near Maine or can get there, look into this camp. The feedback from the campers and their families has been heart-warming. Campkita.com or see Camp Kita on Facebook. You can also email at info@campkita.com.

Don't let the time go by. Find someplace that works for your family. Talking about it is the key and the hardest part.
