Re: Hello from a New Member

Hi JohnfromPA, I lost my husband about 8 years ago and do not come to this Forum very often anymore, but I stopped by this afternoon and saw your post. The day of Dave's suicide, in the morning as I was getting ready to leave for work, he provoked an argument with me. I never thought that the argume...

Re: I lost my father long ago. I'm finally ready to talk

Jkarlen, I lost my husband to hanging 7 years ago. Our daughters were older than you, but they too grieved the loss of their father. By turns, they were angry, grief-stricken. As their mother there is nothing that makes me happier than to hear them swap stories now about their dad. They have come to...

Re: My husband

Hi Emma, I too lost my husband to suicide. We were married for more than 30 years. In the last 8 years he became ill and just got sicker and sicker. He was mostly depressed, diagnosed as Bipolar 2 with no highs, only lows. I loved him dearly, but in the end it became extraordinarily difficult to liv...

Re: My Beautiful Cat Passed Away

Dragonfly,

I am so sorry you lost your cat. Losing a pet is traumatic. For many of us our pets provide great solace after the suicide of our loved ones and a living memory to happier times.

Re: Struggling with loyalty

I would guess that if you are pursuing this out of a sense of loyalty to your husband and have doubts about whether it is worth continuing, it is not worth pursuing. I don't think you need to call and explain about your husband's mental illness. You can just not follow up. I found that just learning...

Re: Lost my father and cousin

Esiason, I am so sorry for your losses. I have no experience with young children and suicide in the family. My own children were in their 20s and had no children of their own when their father completed suicide and were well aware of his depression. I have, however, done the Out of the Darkness Over...

Re: Just starting the process

Hi Surprised, I can relate to much of your story. I lost my husband, Dave, after 34 years of marriage. About 8 years before his suicide, he became depressed and was unable to cycle out. Shortly after I noticed some changes in his personality, he lost his job and eventually his career. He tried to re...
